MONUMENT
The new monument will be placed on the left side of the firehouse where the existing parking lot is now. The monument will consist of the old style “fire gong” used to summon firefighters to a fire call. The gong will be suspended from a wooden arch held by two 8’ pillars which will also serve as platforms for two fire hydrants. There will also be a 2’ tall retaining wall outlined with boxwoods. In the background there will be 3 illuminated flag poles flying, from left to right, the New Jersey Flag, American/POW flag, and the Haworth Fire Company flag. Low voltage lighting will also be installed to highlight key features on the monument. Once construction is completed, the site will have a concrete curb installed around the perimeter, re-graded, and install irrigation and sod/seed.
Construction is expected to begin in early spring or summer.
