On April 25th, the Haworth FD responded to an odor of something burning in the area of LakeShore Dr. and the Haworth Swim Club Entrance. Upon further investigation police and fire units found a large brush fire far back into the woods across from the Haworth Swim Club Entrance. The brush fire was actually the mulch and being so dry it self -ignited causing an extremely large area to be burned.  After a few hours and the use of several mutual aid departments (lack of available water supply, no hydrants) the fire was extinguished. Mutual aid assistance from Oradell FD, Demarest FD, Closter FD and Dumont FD. On April 26th, the Haworth FD responded back for a re-kindle and the fire was quickly extinguished.
